Students Receive Competitive Grants for Post-Graduate Study Abroad
Willamette seniors Lucas Nebert and Jennifer McKenzie have received the Fulbright Grant and the Watson Fellowship, respectively.  Each plans to pursue a specific personal interest in a foreign country next year, expanding their knowledge and getting their hands dirty before settling down for graduate school.

In the recently released Spring 2008 edition of The Scene magazine, you read about the intersection of art, music and technology in “Come Together.” You were also introduced to web 2.0 in “Power to the People.” What you learned in these two articles comes together in this multimedia collaboration in three parts by Jonathan Waltner ’07 and Michael Murray ’08 that they posted on YouTube in 2006. Search Open for Director of Development & Alumni Relations, AGSM
We invite your help in identifying strong candidates for the position of Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette. The Director of Development and Alumni Relations will join a collaborative team of experienced professionals in the final press toward successful completion of the largest campaign effort ever undertaken by the University.

Alumni and Their Cool Careers
Well-deserving alumni were honored on April 24 at the “You’re doing what with your degree?" Awards and Networking event at the Jupiter Hotel in Portland, Ore. From humanitarian work with Mercy Corps to the development of wave energy, our talented alumni have done many things with their liberal arts degrees. In addition to the festivities, many business cards were exchanged and connections made. Willamette Receives School District “Business Partner of the Month" Award

Willamette University has been selected as Salem-Keizer School District’s Business Partner for April 2008. The award recognizes the University’s contributions to local schools including Tiger Club and service learning courses, which places student volunteers in four nearby schools.

Retiring Faculty Reflect on Time at Willamette
At the end of the 2007-2008 school year, six Willamette faculty members will be retiring. Ranging in specialties, teaching styles and student relations, each faculty member has contributed significantly to the Willamette community. The retiring faculty members are Exercise Science Professor and Department Chair Russell Cagle, Sociology Professors Carol Doolittle and Steve Hey, Biology Professors Scott Hawke and Grant Thorsett and Professor of Quantitative Methods and Public Management at the Atkinson School of  Management Bruce Gates.
